African coralwood parquet floors have a very unusual coral red to almost purplish brown colour with a reasonably fine grain. The black of the grain is a magnificent contrast to the coral red or purplish brown colour.
This African hardwood is highly stable, which means that it hardly ever warps. As African coralwood fades in colour very quickly under the effect of light, the finish needs to be applied as quickly as possible. Often lacquer is chosen for this, but a hardwax or oil finish is also possible.
