Building up a lamella parquet floor
A multi-layered parquet, lamella parquet is made up of three different layers.
- The bottom layer provides stabilisation. At Kerkhofs Parket, this underlay is made up of a pine counter-veneer of thickness approximately 2 millimetres.
- The middle or intermediary layer is made of hevea or pine and is approximately 9 millimetres thick.
- The top layer (approx. 4 millimetres) of lamella parquet comprises a solid layer of hardwood and can be made using a large number of wood varieties such as oak or tropical woods.
Lamella parquet with custom finis
A custom finish is also available for lamella parquet. In addition to untreated lamella parquet, all manner of finishes using oil or lacquer are also available.
Advantages of lamella parquet
Thanks to the various layers, lamella parquet hardly warps at all. This type of parquet is ideal for a floating installation.
The low warp factor and floating installation make this floor ideal for our changeable climate. From a visual point of view, the difference compared to a solid parquet floor is barely perceptible. Even the lifespan is comparable. This type of parquet floor is definitely recommended for upper floor spaces, such as bedrooms for example.
